LOB FRAGILER TIME STRUCTURE

On Angela Fischer’s textual objects

The metadiscourse, which Angela Fischer opens to us with her sculptures and picture objects conceived of carbon, car paint and epoxy resin, which partly include organic find material, directs thinking into virulent questions of temporal depth structures of our breathless postmodernism. The aesthetic perception between the self and the object of art leads us on a political-sociological level and exposes the anxiety visions of our present as tempo ideologies. The constant need to increase through technical progress threatens our work as well as our identity and causes consciously experienced present shrink, a feeling of alienation from the world occurs. Fischer’s critique of „liquid modernity“ (Zygmunt Bauman) and losses in the global social frenzy is made visible by the materials chosen. In addition, her artistic work process from the discovery of the root wood, its transfer to the studio, editing and finally essential treatment by hand painting by car paint, a resistance to the horror scenario of the loss of art in immateriality. Fractures and defects in the wood through slow growth and signs of injury are smoothed out by the industrial material to seemingly meet the unified dynamic lifestyle today. The effect of preserving the „naturalia“ holds the contradiction between temporal solidification under glossy surface and a molecular mass or foil with the progress of appropriate flexibility and iridescent sheen. But the longing for the Eternal is not fulfilled. With Fischer’s transformation, the structure of human order is challenged, but the highly aesthetic praise of the fragile remains.
